Malumehit maker DJ Tira has spoken up on “Wololo” crooner Babe Wodumo’s alleged abuse. He insists he was unaware Mampintsha had been abusive until the news broke.

The Afrotainment Boss is speaking up amidst a wave of allegations that Babes Wodumo was abused by boyfriend and producer Mandla ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo of West Ink, which, interestingly, Distrction Boyz say is owing them royalties for their songs.

Although the abuse allegation has raged on for some time, Babes Wodumo, an acknowledged Gqom Queen, was present at the event tagged We Love West Ink  to show solidarity with the West Ink boss.

DJ Tira was present at the event and even performed live alongside the Babes.

So this gives a little weight to what he has to say on the abuse allegation. In an interview with Azania Mosaka On Real Talk on 3, the star DJ said he had no idea about the alleged abuse. His words: “I didn’t know. And when that news broke, that really touched me. I didn’t know.

He also admits not being too close to Babes Wodumo, but tries to check on her from time to time. But then he insists he doesn’t want to get involved in other peoples’ lives, as whatever problems they have they can well resolve without him.

Said he: “They’re doing their own thing and maybe they need you to give them space that they wanted from the beginning. ‘Cause you remember, at the beginning, I introduced uBabes on stage when we were at the SAMAs as a person who’s part of the family…

That notwithstanding, the DJ, who ranks as one of South Africa’s richest artistes and who recently collaborated with Dr. Malinga in “Nyusi Volume, said Babes Wodumo never reached out to him, “But I do have access to her, I do call her, I do say ‘eish what’s happening, I hope your situation gets better…” he concluded.
